The actor had been stabbed multiple times during the incident and required surgery before being discharged from Lilavati Hospital.
However, just days later, Mumbai Police arrested the real culprit—Bangladeshi national Shariful Islam Shahzad Mohammed Rohilla Amin Fakir, also known as Vijay Das, from a nearby police station. Akash was subsequently released, but the damage to his life had already been done.
