Junaid Khan Opens Up About Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta’s Divorce: Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, one of Bollywood’s most iconic couples of the 1980s, tied the knot in 1986. However, their marriage ended in 2002 after 16 years together. Their son, Junaid Khan, who is now making waves in the film industry with his upcoming movie Loveyapa alongside Khushi Kapoor, recently opened up about how he coped with his parents’ divorce.

A Smooth Transition During Childhood

In a candid interview, Junaid reflected on his childhood and his parents’ separation. He shared that Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta handled their split with immense maturity and ensured their children, Junaid and Ira Khan, were shielded from any negativity.

“It was good. My parents split up, I think, when I was eight. But they never actually let us feel that,” Junaid revealed. “I never saw them fight till I was 19. The first time I saw my parents fight, I was 19. So, we never saw them disagree or fight. When it came to us, they were a single unit. So, I think that way they did well. I think it was probably a mature thing to do. I mean, two good people aren’t always good together, and this way, at least I got a childhood with both parents being happy.”

A Family Tradition: Tuesday Tea

Junaid also spoke about a special family ritual that keeps them connected despite their busy schedules. “Every Tuesday evening is family tea. So, mum, Ira, me, and dad—sometimes some of us may not be free, but otherwise, every Tuesday evening, we meet. Whether it’s all four of us, or just three or two, it’s something we’ve been doing for a few years now. We meet quite frequently,” he added.

The Journey Ahead

As Junaid prepares for the release of Loveyapa, he is stepping into the spotlight with his own unique identity. While the shadow of being Aamir Khan’s son might loom large, Junaid is carving a path for himself in Bollywood, fueled by his passion for acting and storytelling.

Junaid’s reflections on his parents’ divorce not only highlight the bond he shares with Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta but also shed light on how maturity and understanding can help a family navigate challenging circumstances.
