In 2008, tragedy struck the life of a young girl named Rajeshwari when she lost both of her parents in an unfortunate incident. Originally from Tamil Nadu, Rajeshwari’s parents worked as laborers on the farmland of Abdulla and Khadeeja in Kerala. The couple had always been kind to their workers, but little did they know that their bond with Rajeshwari would soon change their lives forever.
After the untimely demise of Rajeshwari’s parents, the 10-year-old girl was left orphaned and helpless. Seeing the plight of the little girl, Abdulla and Khadeeja made the life-changing decision to adopt Rajeshwari and give her a loving home. Despite the differences in religion, the couple never saw Rajeshwari as an outsider. Instead, they embraced her as their own daughter and vowed to provide her with the love, care, and education she deserved.

“We had told a few people to find her a good boy. Some proposals came, but we did not like them after detailed inquiries. Our main demand was that the boy should be a teetotaler and have good values,” Abdulla revealed.
After an extensive search, they found the perfect match in Vishnu Prasad, the son of Balachandran and Jayanthi, from Puthiyakotta near Kanhangad. The groom’s family had only one request—that the wedding take place in a temple. Respecting their wishes, the wedding was held at a temple where people from all religions were welcome.

The wedding of Rajeshwari and Vishnu Prasad in 2020 was a celebration of love and communal harmony. Abdulla and Khadeeja performed all the duties of parents, from arranging the wedding to meeting all the expenses. The couple’s three sons also stood by their sister’s side, making the occasion even more special.
When asked about the wedding expenses, Abdulla shared that he and his sons had saved money for Rajeshwari’s marriage over the years. They never differentiated between their biological sons and their adopted daughter, proving that love knows no boundaries.
“We had been saving for her marriage just like we would for our own daughter. Rajeshwari is one of us,” Abdulla said.
