Ram Kapoor Opens Up About His 55 kg Weight Loss Journey: ‘I Did It Without Surgery or External Aids’: Ram Kapoor, known for his remarkable transformation, has made headlines by losing 55 kg over the past 18 months. The 51-year-old actor, who was previously known for his larger-than-life persona, has shared the details of his inspiring weight loss journey in a recent interview with ETimes. Kapoor’s transformation has sparked curiosity, especially amid the growing trend of celebrities opting for weight loss surgeries and medical aids. However, the actor revealed that he achieved his dramatic weight loss the “old-fashioned way.”

A Complete Mental and Physical Reset

Ram Kapoor’s journey wasn’t about following quick-fix solutions or relying on external aids. He explained that the key to his success was a complete reset of his mindset, lifestyle, and daily habits. “Believe it or not, I did it the old-fashioned way, by changing my mindset, lifestyle, and habits, without any surgery or external aids,” Kapoor shared. He emphasized that while medical options can be helpful for some, his focus was on achieving a physical and mental transformation that made him feel strong, energetic, and healthy.

For Kapoor, fitness wasn’t about the number on the scale; it was about feeling good in his own body. “Fitness isn’t about the number on the scale; it’s about feeling strong, energetic, and healthy. Staying fit is a constant work in progress, and one’s life revolves around continuous improvement,” he said. His hard work paid off, and today, he feels “like my 25-year-old self again, physically, mentally, and emotionally.” Kapoor now boasts the stamina to walk for 12 hours without stopping— a testament to how far he has come.

From 140 kg to 85 kg: The Struggles and Realization

Ram Kapoor admits that his weight had a significant impact on his health. At his heaviest, he weighed 140 kg. “At my heaviest, I was 140 kgs while working on Neeyat and Jubilee. Those roles suited my size, but I was unhealthy,” he confessed. Kapoor recalls feeling breathless after walking just a few steps and battling various health issues, including diabetes and a foot injury.

It was during this difficult period that Kapoor had a realization: he needed to prioritize his health for the sake of his family. “I have two children, and I felt the need to set a positive example for them by prioritizing my own health,” he explained. This moment of clarity motivated him to embark on a transformative journey, shedding 55 kg and bringing his weight down to 85 kg.

The Key to Success: Consistency and Lifelong Change

Losing weight in your 50s can be particularly challenging due to a slower metabolism and reduced muscle mass, and Kapoor faced his own set of hurdles. However, he emphasized that his weight loss journey was about making a lifelong change, not a temporary fix. “It’s not about following a diet for a few months, it’s about changing who you are as a person,” Kapoor said.

This time around, he focused on a holistic approach to fitness, which included paying attention to what he ate, how much he slept, his exercise routine, staying hydrated, and implementing fasting intervals. In the past, he had lost significant weight—about 30 kilos—twice, but had regained it. This time, his focus was on maintaining long-term success by adopting a sustainable lifestyle rather than relying on short-term measures.

Kapoor’s transformation is a testament to the power of determination and a commitment to living a healthier life. His story serves as an inspiration to many, showing that with hard work and the right mindset, it is possible to achieve lasting results.
