During the interview, Sameera recalled how her mother-in-law, whom she affectionately calls “Sassy Sasu,” welcomed her into their family with open arms even before her marriage to Akshai Varde. “From the beginning, it was very quirky, very easy. She was okay if I spent the night there. I was 32, Akshai was 30, and she was like, ‘You guys are in your 30s, I am not dumb,’” Sameera revealed.
While Manjri was rooted in traditional values, her open-mindedness pleasantly surprised Sameera. “This combination was a bit confusing for me also. There was no dikhava (show-off) there,” she added. Sameera married Akshai Varde, an entrepreneur, on January 21, 2014, in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony. The couple has two children, son Hans (born in 2015) and daughter Nyra (born in 2019). Post-marriage, Sameera stepped away from her acting career to focus on her family and personal life.
