Sameera Reddy on Her Open-Minded Mother-in-Law: A Bond Beyond Traditions

A Quirky and Open-Minded Start

During the interview, Sameera recalled how her mother-in-law, whom she affectionately calls “Sassy Sasu,” welcomed her into their family with open arms even before her marriage to Akshai Varde. “From the beginning, it was very quirky, very easy. She was okay if I spent the night there. I was 32, Akshai was 30, and she was like, ‘You guys are in your 30s, I am not dumb,’” Sameera revealed.

While Manjri was rooted in traditional values, her open-mindedness pleasantly surprised Sameera. “This combination was a bit confusing for me also. There was no dikhava (show-off) there,” she added. After Ranveer Singh, Mukesh Khanna rejects Tiger Shroff as the new Shaktimaan: ‘He is still a child among children’

From Dates to Family Time

Sameera also shared a humorous anecdote about how Akshai Varde often brought his mother along on their dates. “Akshai would get her on our dates, and he would be like, ‘You know, my mother is single, she is a divorcee.’ For the first six months of my life, the mother came for the movies. He’s like, ‘No, I have to take my mother for the movie.’ I was like, ‘What are we doing?’” Despite this unconventional arrangement, Sameera found it endearing and embraced their family dynamic. Sanju Samson’s Father Blames MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid for ‘Wasting 10 Years of Son’s Career’
