Shefali Jariwala’s Father Was Against Her Acting Career: Old Interview Resurfaces After Her Death

Shefali Jariwala, popularly known as the Kaanta Laga Girl, left the nation in shock after her untimely demise on June 27, 2025. As tributes continue to pour in for the late actress, an old interview of hers has resurfaced online, revealing the personal struggles she faced while choosing a career in the entertainment industry—particularly the opposition from her father.

Shefali Jariwala Revealed Her Father Was Against Her Acting Dreams

In an earlier interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Shefali Jariwala candidly spoke about how her decision to enter the glamour industry did not sit well with her father. Coming from a traditional Gujarati family, her father placed strong emphasis on academics over showbiz.

“Mere pita ek paaramparik Gujarati parivaar se the aur wo mere glamour ki duniya mein aane ke faisle ke khilaaf the, kyunki hamare parivaar mein padhai ko sabse zyada mahatva diya jaata tha,” she had said.

Shefali shared that her father had laid a condition—she had to complete her studies before stepping into the world of entertainment. Respecting his wishes, she pursued Computer Engineering at Sardar Patel Engineering College, eventually becoming an IT engineer before making her breakthrough with Kaanta Laga.

Her Mother Supported Her Dreams

While her father was hesitant, it was Shefali’s mother who supported her passion and encouraged her to take the leap. This decision changed her life forever and paved the way for her entry into the limelight.

“Meri maa ne mera saath diya aur uske baad meri zindagi badal gayi.”

On June 27, 2025, the 41-year-old actress tragically passed away due to cardiac arrest, though emerging reports suggest a possible link to anti-ageing medication she had been taking for several years.
