Vaani Kapoor & Fawad Khan React to Pahalgam Terror Attack Amid ‘Abir Gulaal’ Boycott Calls

The recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed 28 innocent lives, has sparked widespread outrage across the country. In the aftermath, social media users are once again demanding a boycott of Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s upcoming film, Abir Gulaal, also starring Vaani Kapoor.

Fawad Khan Condemns the Pahalgam Attack

Fawad Khan, set to make his Bollywood comeback with Abir Gulaal, took to Instagram to express his grief. Sharing a story on April 23, the actor wrote:

“Deeply saddened to hear the news of the heinous attack in Pahalgam. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this horrifying incident. We pray for strength and healing for their families.”

His post, however, has done little to calm the calls for boycotting the film due to his nationality.

Vaani Kapoor Also Reacts

Vaani Kapoor, Fawad’s co-star in Abir Gulaal, also reacted to the tragedy. She shared:

“Have been numb, at a loss of words since the time I saw the attack on innocent people in Pahalgam. Gutted. Devastated. My prayers are with the families.”

Rising Boycott Demands for Abir Gulaal

Despite their statements, both actors are facing backlash. Many netizens are calling for a ban on Pakistani artists in Indian films.

Ashoke Pandit, President of the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association, issued a strong statement:

“This attack is an act of war. We have repeatedly urged the industry not to work with Pakistani artists. The nation must come first.”

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees has also echoed similar sentiments, signaling possible resistance to the film’s release.
