Virat Kohli 'leaving India'; cricketer to move to London with Anushka Sharma, kids Vamika, Akaay soon, confirms ex-coach

Virat Kohli, the celebrated Indian cricketer, is preparing to shift his base to London along with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and their two children, Vamika and Akaay. The confirmation comes from Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, who hinted at the cricketer’s plans to settle in the UK post-retirement. Sharma revealed this in a recent interview with Dainik Jagran, although he refrained from divulging further details. Check also Anushka Sharma Reveals the Reason Behind Virat Kohli’s On-Field Aggression

Frequent Visits to London and Property Ownership

Over the past couple of years, Kohli has been a frequent visitor to London. Interestingly, the couple’s second child, Akaay, was born in London on February 15 this year. The family also owns property in the city, which will likely serve as their new home once the relocation is finalized.

Rajkumar Sharma’s Confirmation

“Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket,” said Rajkumar Sharma.

The cricketer and his family spent a significant part of the year in London. After Akaay’s birth, Kohli briefly returned to India to participate in the T20 World Cup in June, followed by the ODI series against Sri Lanka in July. However, he was back in London until August before returning for India’s home cricket season.

Kohli’s Current Cricket Commitments

Currently, Kohli is participating in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. His next major assignment is the Champions Trophy, although the schedule and venues are yet to be announced. Speculation suggests Kohli might visit London again between the Champions Trophy and the IPL 2025.

Kohli’s Recent Performance

While Kohli began the five-Test series against Australia with a stunning century in Perth, he struggled in subsequent matches, scoring only 21 runs across the next three innings. Despite this dip, Rajkumar Sharma expressed confidence in Kohli’s ability to regain form and shine in the Boxing Day Test at MCG and the New Year Test in Sydney.

Kohli’s Future in Cricket

Rajkumar Sharma dismissed rumors of Kohli’s impending retirement, asserting that the cricketer has many years of cricket left in him. “Virat is still very fit and not too old to retire. I believe that Virat will play cricket for five more years. Virat will also be seen playing in the 2027 World Cup,” Sharma stated.

Kohli’s rapport with his coach dates back over 26 years, and Sharma’s confidence in the cricketer’s longevity in the game is unwavering. With Ravichandran Ashwin’s retirement and Rohit Sharma entering the latter stages of his career, Kohli’s leadership and form remain pivotal for Team India.

Life After Cricket

Post-retirement, Kohli plans to spend his life in the UK, which aligns with his frequent visits and established ties to London. This move signifies a major transition for the Kohli-Sharma family, but fans can look forward to watching their star cricketer in action for several more years before he eventually settles into life off the pitch.
